“A Tradition of Craftsmanship”

It is immensely satisfying to make our living by combining individual creativity with meticulous craftsmanship to produce fine furniture- and we feel fortunate that our work has been so well received.

Through the years, we have continued to develop our own style and have also added to the pieces we make on a regular basis. We take great pride and pleasure in sending our furniture to distant places as well as to homes here in New England, making many new friends in the process.

In the shop I believe that craftsmanship is based on an honest relationship between design and material. One person constructs each piece from start to finish - selecting the wood, fashioning the joints, and assembling the parts with individual attention and care.

This is not the most efficient way to make furniture, of coure; certainly it would be faster and easier to settle on standard-sized pieces and inventory the component parts. But each of us derives great satisfaction from the completion of each piece and the renewed anticipation of working on the next.
